Junru (Jennie) Xu

Junru Xu is an award-winning product design leader and multidisciplinary creative with over eight years of experience delivering impactful digital experiences at scale. A graduate of Columbia University, she integrates strategic thinking, data-informed design, and refined visual craft to create systems that are both innovative and human-centered. Her work spans consumer platforms, privacy-centered systems, and socially driven design initiatives, consistently balancing business impact with meaningful user outcomes.

Throughout her career, Junru has received more than 25 international design awards, reflecting sustained excellence across product design, digital innovation, and visual communication. Her honors include the prestigious Red Dot Award, A’ Design Award, ADC Awards, Indigo Design Awards, MUSE Design Awards, London Design Awards, Asia Design Prize, and First Prize from Chicago Women in Architecture. These recognitions highlight her ability to operate at a global standard while bridging strategy, interaction design, and aesthetic precision. Her award-winning work demonstrates not only strong craft, but also systems thinking and measurable product impact.

Beyond receiving awards, Junru has been invited to serve as a Jury Member for internationally recognized competitions, including the A’ Design Award & Competition, Orpetron Web Design Awards, and the American Business Awards. Serving as a juror reflects peer recognition of her expertise and critical judgment, as well as her contribution to advancing global design standards. In this role, she evaluates submissions across disciplines, upholding rigor, originality, and real-world relevance in design practice.

Her creative work also extends beyond commercial product environments. Her project Milky Way in the City was exhibited at The Holy Art Gallery, demonstrating her ability to bridge artistic exploration with experiential storytelling. This cross-disciplinary approach distinguishes her practice, allowing her to move fluidly between large-scale product systems and conceptual, culturally oriented design projects.

Professionally, Junru has led complex design initiatives serving millions of users, maintaining a high bar for usability, accessibility, and visual excellence. She approaches design as both a craft and a responsibility – ensuring that innovation translates into clarity, trust, and inclusive digital experiences. As a co-founder and mentor, she further contributes to the design community by guiding emerging designers and supporting the next generation of creative leaders.
