
In post-capitalist economic downturns, small-town young intellectuals in metropolises face the economically motivated decisions on staying or leaving. Through journalistic observations, I have found a prevalent identity crisis caused by this forced mobility. Through a data-collection-based installation, this project highlights the structural inequality behind their repeated displacement. It reflects on the dilemma of young intellectuals navigating life as a new generation of migrant workers, caught between small towns and big cities.
