Disability discrimination is a common, yet often overlooked problem in today’s society. People with disabilities are excluded and/or separated from social activities from a very young age, including but not limited to: classrooms, peer events such as birthday parties, and employment opportunities. According to our research, people WITH disabilities generally describe themselves as being “not able,” and felt hardly included in society. They generally feel this way due to constant rejection, staring, exclusion from social groups, and denials from job opportunities.
