Something I realised among my friends is that while they value their Chinese roots and the language, they hesitate to associate themselves with it because they are embarrassed of how little they know about their culture and communicating in Mandarin.It’s the New Year! is a game which aims to create an environment where friends can come together and speak mandarin casually. The game is designed to integrate relatable, everyday experiences of a typical Singaporean Chinese, so that it engages the players with traditional Chinese culture and values; such as celebrated festivals and activities.
